Other Events

These are other organizations that hold dances in the Portland area in which generally wholesome music is played, smoking is not allowed, and alcohol is not present. Dancing entirely to Christian music is unique to the Christian Social Dance Association.  The dances listed here are not part of the Christian Social Dance Association and therefore Christian dance music is played infrequently.  If your only experience with dancing is through CSDA we recommend that you speak with the hosts of each event and ask every question you may have before attending.

Christian Connection Ministries is advertised as a Christian singles organization; however, couples with their partners are welcome.  There mission statement on their website says "to enrich the lives of Christians, promote social fellowship among singles, attract unbelievers to Christ, and help others help themselves.  (And have a lot of fun in the process!) "

Mission Portland Singles Network is advertised as a Christian organization that has dances at Oaks Park Pavilion.  Their goal is to provide a safe and friendly place where people can come and dance and meet new people.  There mission statement is to serve the Body of Christ by networking with churches and singles leaders within a 50 mile radius of Portland and Vancouver.  They bridge the connections for singles to live out the Good News of Jesus Christ where they worship, live, work, and play.  Singles and couples with their partners are welcome.

Places to Dance
.
These are places where dances are often held.  All types of dancing may be found at these locations therefore CSDA recommends that you speak with the host of each event and ask every question you may have before attending.  Smoking and alcohol may be present at some events.

Norse Hall is where Christian Social Dance Association held our first dances beginning on Sunday, April 10, 2005.  We continued our dances in the main ballroom at Norse Hall and The Milwaukee Community Club until relocating to the Paradise Ballroom (now known as the Paradise Dance Studio) in November of that year.

Paradise Dance Studio is where Christian Social Dance Association held social dances from November 2005 through December 2008.  The studio offers various dances and group lessons on most every night of the month.

The Ballroom Dance Company will be the new home for Christian Social Dance Association in 2009.  There are three ballrooms at this location offering dances and group lessons on most every night of the month.
